MY FIRST EXPERIENCE OF A VIRTUAL CHURCH CONFERENCE ACROSS AFRICA

posted in: Experiences | 2

In the midst of need and dark prospects all over the world because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the members of BCC in Africa will remember this time as something that has turned out for the better, as Paul wrote to the Philippians: “I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel.” (Phil.1:12).

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, with a ban on travel and on the gathering of people, the first ever BCC Online Conference was held among the members in Africa. The Online Conference replaced conferences scheduled for April and May in South Africa, Malawi, East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda), Congo DRC and Cameroon.

It really is God’s time for Africa, and we see tremendous developments taking place as many more members from many African countries are coming into a personal life and development in Jesus Christ, with victory over all conscious sin. The same life that was lived and preached by the apostles is becoming a reality in Africa, and the body of Christ is becoming more and more visible. The unity of the Spirit throughout the conference was so blessed to experience, hear and taste, and our hearts were powerfully strengthened and encouraged to love God and His Son and one another, and to lay down our lives and partake more and more of the life of Jesus.

There were four meetings altogether over the two days. Of course, we missed being together physically and having fellowship between meetings, but we were now able to share in this “gathering” together with our families and friends at home, something that was not possible until now.

It was tremendously blessed to hear all from Africa and we are so thankful for the online conference. Our hearts were strengthened to endure in battle in daily strife because we have seen our inheritance in the saints that we heard over the weekend. Thank-you once again to everyone, especially the technical team behind the scenes for making it possible.
